About the event
- Ratha Yatra or the Chariot Festival is one of the most prominent festivals of Odisha, it is celebrated world over where the deities Lord Jagannath (Vishnu avatar), Lord Balabhadra (his brother), Goddess Subhadra (his sister) and Sudarshana Chakra (his weapon) travel on a Ratha, a wooden temple-shaped chariot. It attracts over a million Hindu pilgrims who join the procession each year across the world
- Though it originated in Odisha, the festival is celebrated across all cultures & every strata of our society in India and across the world with lots of pomp & extravaganza.
- We have been celebrating the festival at South City Bangalore since 2019 with participation and involvement of all residents.
- This year the festival will be celebrated on 28th and 29th of June 2025 at the South City Complex, Bangalore
